RELO Direct® has begun its third year of partnership with Kaleidoscope, a non-profit child welfare agency that has been serving children and families impacted by abuse and neglect since 1973. RELO Direct® has supported the non-profit organization’s Find Your Future program, part of Kaleidoscope’s Transitional Living Services, since 2014 by extending intern opportunities to current and former foster youth attending college.
The Find Your Future program connects Illinois employers with young people enrolled in 2- or 4-year colleges to provide summer internships in their course of study. Potential internship participants submit résumés and are matched based on their academic pursuits. RELO Direct® welcomed three interns this summer, who are working with the relocation management company’s client finance and client service departments. Participants also engage in résumé workshops, mock interviews, team building activities, community volunteer opportunities, and a professional etiquette dinner in addition to the ten-week workplace internship to provide them with well-rounded business skills.
“We are excited to work with such an innovative and flexible partner like RELO Direct®,” says Kathy Grzelak, LCPC, Kaleidoscope’s executive director. “RELO Direct® has embraced our youth and program goals with great commitment through the years. Further, they are one of the first companies to increase our reach by donating additional resources to support expansion initiatives and internship placements. They have exceeded our expectations in assisting us in achieving our mission to empower children, youth, and families impacted by abuse and neglect to build resourcefulness, resiliency, and supportive relationships.”
