It’s never fun to shake off the warm weather vibes, but here’s how you can get back into the swing of a majorly productive routine even with the cold weather.
Do a deep clean. Just like you do it each spring after the doldrums of the winter have left your home a mess, do another deep clean. You’ve been so busy on vacation and spending time outside, cleaning the house hasn’t been high on the agenda, so now is the time to get everything spotless. A clean home is also a helpful way to feel fresh and reset for the year.
Get organized. While you’re cleaning every inch of your home, it’s a great time to also get organized. Get storage out so you can bring out your cold weather wardrobe and put away those shorts and swimsuits you won’t be using for a while. Doing this before you need your heavy-duty winter jacket will ensure it’s ready for you when those big storms come out of nowhere.
Make a schedule. The hardest part of getting back into a routine is not having one in the first place. Mark everything down and carve out non-negotiable blocks of time dedicated to your tasks. If you don’t, they won’t get done as efficiently as they should, and you’ll be much more stressed out by it all.
Make time for self-care. Summer is all about self-care—it’s when we finally stop, slow down and take time for the things we love. But all of that can fall to the wayside during the cold weather, particularly during the hectic holiday season. This is when it’s most important to schedule in the little things that help you destress, because this is when you will be stressed out the most. Set up a monthly massage, weekly yoga classes or downtime to binge on the latest Netflix—whatever you need to decompress from the week. Don’t put it all off until next summer.
