Zillow is now an active homebuyer in Houston, its first market in Texas, through the Zillow Offers program, according to an announcement by the company this week.
“Texas is home to some of the largest and most vibrant housing markets in the country, and we’re thrilled to bring Zillow Offers to Houston,” says Zillow Brand President Jeremy Wacksman. “In just nine months, Zillow Offers has already helped thousands of homeowners sell their home in a simple and stress-free way. What we’ve overwhelmingly heard from these consumers is that they love the control we give them over the entire process. Houston-area homeowners are able to use this innovative, consumer-first service for one of the largest financial transactions of their lives.”
Houston, the biggest city by population in Texas, is the seventh market to welcome Zillow Offers, which is also available in Atlanta; Denver; Charlotte and Raleigh, N.C.; Las Vegas; and Phoenix. Zillow has announced it will enter Miami; Minneapolis; Nashville; Orlando; Portland, Ore.; Riverside; and another major market in Texas, Dallas, this year.
As with Zillow’s other active markets, agents and brokers in Houston will be involved in transactions, and homeowners who opt not to sell to Zillow, or do not receive a Zillow Offer, will be connected to a brokerage partner or Premier Agent.
Zillow announced its expansion to Houston in November. At the time, 20,000 homeowners had requested a Zillow Offer, according to the company.
