The Eastern Bergen County Board of REALTORS® and the RealSource Association of REALTORS®, two of the largest REALTOR® trade associations in New Jersey, have formalized their union after the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) approved their new name, the Greater Bergen Association of REALTORS® (GBAR).
Jorge Ledesma, GBAR CEO, says, “We welcome 2019 with excitement and eagerness for a new future for our association and our REALTOR® family. We understand that today’s changes will be the foundation for tomorrow’s success and envision a new association with greater opportunities and new partnerships that will allow us to provide further value to our members.”
The new organization has over 7,500 members, making them the third-largest REALTOR® trade association in New Jersey. This consolidation will bring REALTOR® members in all of Bergen County and some parts of Hudson County more educational opportunities on a local, state and national level, as well as an international level through their nationally recognized Global Business Council. Additionally, the new organization will be bringing in new exclusive member benefits.
2019 GBAR President Christopher Tausch says, “We are very excited about the consolidation of our two boards into the Greater Bergen Association of REALTORS®. By combining our resources we have a greater ability to advocate on behalf of our members as well as the rights of homeowners. Our successful battle to preserve the tax deductibility of state and local taxes taught us the importance of working together with a united voice. With over 7,500 members throughout Bergen County and beyond, we are committed to continuing to raise our voice to promote the American dream of homeownership.”
