Working out at home is incredibly convenient. It has other advantages too; you always know exactly how clean the facility is and you’re never stuck waiting for your favorite workout spot. However, finding the perfect exercise styles for home can be a challenge. These exercises are perfect for your next home workout.

Tabata
A form of HIIT (high-intensity interval training), Tabata focuses on structured bursts of hard exercise to improve endurance and cardiovascular health. Tabata participants do one exercise, such as burpees or push-ups, for four minutes. This time is structured in the form of eight rounds, consisting of 20-second exercise and a 10-second rest. Participants then move on to a new exercise. This HIIT workout utilizes body weight, making it a great choice to blast fat from your living room.

Yoga
A natural choice for a home workout, yoga checks a lot of boxes when it comes to being easy to do at home. Requiring only a simple mat for most, and perhaps a block or bands for advanced exercisers, yoga takes minimal space and equipment. The quiet and low-impact nature also makes it an ideal choice for those who wish to workout without disrupting their household. Beyond the practical benefits for the home, yoga improves flexibility, strengthens muscles and improves alignment. This, plus the calming meditative benefits of which yoga boasts, makes it a great choice for the early bird who wants to get moving first thing in the morning.

Circuit Training
Circuit training, while it covers a broad category of exercise types, is an excellent technique to keep you on track and focused during your workouts. Using a timer to measure your movement and the length of your rest periods ensures that you don’t get distracted by other tasks at home.  Circuit training’s built-in variety and fast-paced nature will guarantee that you don’t get bored. Grab your phone or watch and create a circuit of your own. Even tune into free videos online to get your sweat on.

Pilates
A home workout go-to, pilates takes little space and can be easily modified depending on your fitness level. Pilates involves low impact conditioning that focuses on flexibility, alignment and posture, as well as muscle strength and endurance. The best part? It requires minimal equipment and it is easy to find videos to follow along with when you’re first getting started.
