HomeSmart’s 2020k Referral Contest officially opened Sept. 8, 2020. The first-of-its-kind contest for the brokerage franchise company was initiated in an effort to reach 20,000 agents in 2020.
This announcement comes on the heels of the company celebrating its 19,000 agent milestone at the end of August. The 20,000-agent Q4 recruiting goal was set forth by the company’s leadership team.
“HomeSmart International’s footprint has expanded tremendously in 2020 thus far, surpassing 19,000 agents last month,” said Ashley Bowers, president of HomeSmart International. “We want to continue to ride that momentum all the way to 20,000 agents in 2020, but we are asking for our agents’ help.”
When a HomeSmart agent refers a real estate professional who joins any of the company’s brokerages across the country, he or she will be entered into the drawing—each referral counting as one entry. If the company organically reaches the 20,000-agent mark before the end of the year, a name will be drawn, and the winner awarded $20,000.
“There’s no better testimonial to join HomeSmart than to get a referral,” said Zack Cramer, national director of Agent Recruitment at HomeSmart International. “It’s a testament to the quality of the service we provide, and we want our awesome agents to bring on other agents who are a great fit for our culture!”
According to Cramer, 40 percent of all hires in 2019 came from referrals from the existing agent base.
Bryan Brooks, HomeSmart International’s senior vice president of Franchise Sales, noted that the company relies on mergers and acquisitions for its large steps toward expansion. He expects what he describes as massive growth in the next six months. The 2020k Referral Contest, on the other hand, is an opportunity to drive up agent count organically.
“Organic growth is key to the success of any business,” added Brooks. “Together, with our powerful network of real estate agents, we are excited at the prospect of reaching 20,000 in 2020.”
