The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is always the place to see the next generation of smart home technology, and this year certainly did not disappoint. From AI-powered robots to automatic doggy doors, there’s something for everyone. For all the tech-loving homeowners who want nothing but the latest and greatest advancements in their living space, here are a few highlights from this year’s show.
Next-Level Soaking Tub
Wellness fanatics take note! Kohler’s new Stillness Bathtub is about much more than just bathing. The voice-activated tub fills up from the bottom and is surrounded by a wooden moat that overflowing water cascades into. Additional features include smart lighting, an aromatherapy diffuser and even a fog dispenser to create a dreamy experience.
Smartphone-Controlled Pet Door
Being a dog owner comes with its challenges, like letting your furry friend out when no one’s home during the day. With MyQ Pet Portal, however, you can watch live video and open a state-of-the-art dog door using your smartphone so that your pet can do its business outside during the day. The collar even comes equipped with a Bluetooth sensor to automatically let them back inside as soon as they’re ready.
Craft-Ice Refrigerator
LG’s new smart refrigerator is loaded with exciting features that will stand out in any luxury kitchen. Simply tap on the door and it becomes a window to show you what’s inside without having to open it. If that’s not enough, cocktail enthusiasts are sure to love the “craft ice” feature that makes large ice balls to keep your beverage from getting watered down too quickly.
Multi-Purpose Robot
Robot vacuums are nothing new by any means, but the Samsung 90 AI+ takes this technology to the next level. Equipped with the same cutting-edge sensors that are used in self-driving cars, this futuristic robot can seamlessly navigate around the furniture in your home. If you want to keep an eye on things while you’re out of the house, a camera will provide live video to your smartphone and enable you to drive the robot around the house.
