RISMEDIA, May 1, 2008-Recognizing the importance of a higher education and the associated rising costs to today’s youth, Century 21 Real Estate LLC named Rachel Baker, James Matthew Johnson, Jaymee Tucker as the recipients of its 2008 national scholarship awards.
This is the fifth consecutive year that Century 21 Real Estate LLC, in conjunction with its parent company, Realogy Corporation, held its national scholarship awards program, granting three deserving young people each a $10,000 educational scholarship. Through the annual scholarship program, the Century 21® System has awarded $150,000 in scholarships since starting the program in 2004.
“These scholarships are making a real difference in the lives of our Century 21 System members and their families and we are proud to recognize another talented group of recipients in 2008,” said Tom Kunz, president and CEO of Century 21 Real Estate LLC.
Rachel Baker
Baker is currently completing her senior year of high school at Redondo Union High School in Redondo Beach, Calif., where she maintains a 3.95 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. While maintaining such academic excellence, Baker also serves as editor-in-chief of her school newspaper and is an awarded member of the school’s varsity cross-country team. Baker’s mother, Laurie Baker is a sales associate with Century 21 Amber Realty located in Torrance, Calif. Baker has been accepted to and plans to attend Brown University this fall.
James Matthew Johnson
Planning to major in business finance and continue his family’s entrepreneurial spirit, Johnson is currently attending the University of Kentucky as a sophomore and holds a 3.3 grade point average on a 4.0 point scale. Johnson’s mother, Leigh Anna Johnson-Balley is a sales associate with Century 21 Realty Group Hagen located in Louisville, Kentucky. In addition, Johnson’s grandfather is an insurance agent and his grandmother is a real estate builder/developer.
Jaymee Tucker
Currently completing her senior year at North Brunswick Township High School, Tucker maintains a 3.81 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and plans to study physical therapy. Tucker’s mother, Ro Tucker is a sales associate with Century 21 Worden & Green in East Brunswick, NJ. Diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder at the age of 10, Tucker knows the meaning of persistence and dedication which is evident by her academic success and her athletic prowess on the basketball court.
