RISMEDIA, November 21, 2008-Runzheimer International has announced the availability of new GPS-based services to reduce mobile employee program costs. The services help companies create optimal driving routes, automate mileage capture and provide access to real-time field intelligence.
According to the company, the services allow for end-to-end integration of route planning, mileage capture, key route statistics and other field data. The services are configurable to meet the specific needs of an organization and can also be intertwined with CRM, ERP and many applications to leverage existing databases.
In addition, companies gain real-time visibility into field activity. The services capture location information, which can more accurately estimate arrival time to customer sites or verify driver safety.
The services reduce driving time and number of miles traveled, which translates into both cost savings and improved productivity. By reducing a trip from 110 miles to 100 miles, a driver saves 10 miles in fuel per trip and gains time to add additional stops or sales calls.
“The current economic conditions are forcing all organizations to look for ways to improve operating costs. This service allows organizations to save fuel, increase service levels and save time through the utilization of fantastic new technology,” said Greg Harper, president, Runzheimer International. “These new services also reflect Runzheimer International’s continued focus on Total Employee Mobility® (TEM®) services for our clients through the use of readily available technology.”
TEM is a business model that promotes holistic and strategic management of workforce mobility programs. The overall cost of these programs is often equal to or more than the cost of an organization’s healthcare programs. The new offering, as well as key Runzheimer services, support this model.
Runzheimer’s acquisition of RouteSmith earlier this year also played an integral role in the creation of the new services, the company says.
