RISMEDIA, Dec. 11, 2008-A smiling William Raveis reached into a TARGET-20K spinning drum on December 3 at the Shelton, Connecticut, headquarters of William Raveis Real Estate in front of 100 hopeful agents from 41 different real estate companies in Connecticut and Massachusetts, and pulled out the names of two very excited sales teams who are now $20,000 richer.
The event was the first drawing in the company’s TARGET-20K program. T-20K is an incentive program that motivates real estate associates to show William Raveis TARGET-20K homes. It offers any real estate agent that sells and closes a TARGET-20K house a one-in-fifty chance to win $10,000. For every 50 TARGET-20K houses that sell, the William Raveis company holds two drawings; one where the listing associate wins $10,000 and one where the selling agent wins $10,000. Houses currently in the program range in price from $16.5 million to $70 thousand and are located throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts.
“We are happy to hold this TARGET-20K drawing,” said William Raveis, Chairman and CEO. “The program is a proven success. Our TARGET-20K houses are selling twice as fast as the current days on the market. A TARGET-20K listing is selling in an average of 46.55 days compared with the local housing statistics data averaging 90 days on the market.”
Maria Caputo and Deborah Cronin, of the William Raveis Southbury office, were the listing agents on a William Raveis TARGET-20K property in Waterbury. When their name was called, there was a scream in the audience and soon the crowd parted to allow them to receive their suitcase full of $10.00 bills totaling $10,000 dollars. “I am thrilled to win,” exclaimed Caputo. “I have been a listing agent in several of these drawings when we had the TARGET-20K program in the 90’s and never won. I love this company and love Bill Raveis for encouraging us all to be positive and to work hard regardless of the market!”
An unusual coincidence happened during the second $10,000 drawing when the selling agent’s name was drawn. The winners, Nelson and Lena DeMatos of Family Homes Real Estate, LLC in Waterbury, were the selling brokers on the same William Raveis TARGET-20K property in Waterbury. “We were shocked when our names were called. We all worked so hard to sell that house for it needed many repairs. It is nice to think that we were rewarded for our hard work. We plan on using it to go to the Caribbean!”
“We are looking forward to our next TARGET-20K drawing,” added Mr. Raveis. “We’re already halfway there with 23 T-20K houses closed and more properties being bindered or going under contract every day. It is a win-win-win situation for the home seller, the listing associate and the selling associate.”
To date, agents from 54 different real estate companies in Connecticut and Massachusetts have participated in the TARGET-20K program.
