RISMEDIA, January 8, 2009-Prudential Rand Realty announced that it has acquired Shaw Properties in Yonkers, N.Y., a move that the company says strengthens Rand’s presence in Yonkers and the surrounding areas.
As part of the transaction, Shaw Properties will vacate its location at 381 McLean Ave. and move into Prudential Rand’s Regional Marketing Center at 1034 North Broadway in Yonkers. Duwayne Shaw, Shaw Properties’ broker and owner, will join Rand as an associate broker. Additionally, Shaw Properties’ licensed real estate professionals will join Rand, including Christina Byfield, Elvin Delgado, Karen Hall and Shkelzen Rugova, along John Mucilli, who is joining Rand from a Manhattan real estate company.
“Duwayne is exactly the kind of broker we built this company for,” said Greg Rand, managing partner of Prudential Rand Realty. “He is young, smart and talented with big plans and a bright future. He and his team will help us to accelerate our goal to be the market leader in Yonkers.”
Shaw said he was attracted to Prudential Rand because of the company’s reputation as an industry leader and its abundance of resources.
“I wanted to partner with a strong real estate company that has goals and aspirations similar to my own,” said Shaw. “Prudential Rand is the leading real estate brokerage in the Greater Hudson Valley. The company continues to grow and strives to be the best. It has harnessed the best technology and partnered with the best people. I am looking forward to working with such an accomplished brokerage and helping the company to increase its market share in Yonkers and the surrounding areas.”
Shaw has eight years of experience in real estate; he served four of those years as the broker and owner of Shaw Properties. He is a member of the National Association of Realtors, New York State Association of Realtors, Westchester Putnam Multiple Listing Service, Westchester County Board of Realtors and Institute of Luxury Home Marketing.
Additionally, Shaw received his associate’s degree from SUNY Westchester Community College and is currently working toward his bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from SUNY Purchase. He is a volunteer with the Hudson River Association and resides in Yonkers. Shaw can be reached at 914-497-8604 or at duwayne.shaw@randrealty.com
