RISMEDIA, April 26, 2010—Does social media really work for real estate? When is the last time somebody got a genuine lead from Twitter or Facebook? And what about Internet marketing for commercial real estate? With all the hype it’s hard to tell what’s truly worth your time and energy. Obviously some people are succeeding using innovative methods, but which methods work and drive new business our way?
REMarTech (Real Estate Marketing & Technology Academy) endeavors to settle these questions this week at its 2-day technology seminar April 28 and 29 at the Park Central Hotel in Manhattan. For details, click here.
The event has more than 20 workshops and a full day of panels and expert presentations to address real estate marketing and technology for not just residential brokers and agents, but commercial real estate executives and building owners, managers and developers.
Speaker Spotlight: John Lim, Founder of Mobile Real Estate ID
Lim will present, “Mobile Marketing Techniques for Brokers and Agents,” on Wednesday, April 28 from 9 – 9:50 a.m. and on Thursday, April 29, Lim will present, “Mobile Marketing for Building Owners, Managers, and Developers” from 2 – 2:50 p.m.
Mobile Marketing Techniques for Brokers and Agents and Mobile Marketing for Building Owners, Mangers and Developers will teach you the essentials of using short codes, mobile websites, and mobile applications to generate more leads and inquiries for your listings. Find out more about recent developments in mobile applications, mobile social media and marketing techniques. Specifically, learn how to use low-cost and easy-to-use methods to get your listings in the hands of buyers on their mobile devices. Master the technique of marrying your open house efforts or other marketing efforts with mobile listings tools to increase inquiries.
Why you should attend: Almost everyone has a mobile phone or hand-held device within arms reach nearly 24 hours a day. Text messages have a 99% open rate, much higher than open rates for email (<10% for unsolicited email). The ability to reach buyers and be reached by them via mobile phone is increasing rapidly. Attend this workshop to learn how to inspire contact through mobile short codes, mobile applications, and websites especially designed for mobile phones. Expand your channels beyond the web to reach people where they are all the time: near their mobile phone!
John Lim has extensive experience in the mobile space, which began in 1997 when he established Global Tel Com, a mobile phone retailer for AT&T Wireless. He led Global Tel Com to rapid growth and, in only one year, concluded nationwide supplier contracts with Computer City and was recognized as one of the top 5 New York State retailers in sales volume for AT&T.
John founded OSM Partners in 2003, which developed successful marketing initiatives for national companies including Anheuser?Busch Companies, Inc., the National Football League, Equinox Fitness, and Diageo, the world’s largest multinational beer, wine, and Spirits Company. Notably, John and OSM spearheaded the release of the Bud Light Aluminum bottle to the NY Metro Market.
More recently, John Lim founded Mobile Real Estate ID, which allows buyers to access property info, pictures and the listing agent’s contact info directly on their cell phone via text message.
Why you should listen to John:
John has invested over 13 years in mobile technology and marketing, learning what works and what doesn’t. At both sessions, you will learn from his successes and failures, so that you can avoid common pitfalls to quickly and easily develop mobile marketing techniques at low cost with minimal effort.
