RISMEDIA, April 20, 2012–Patterson-Schwartz Real Estate embraces the philosophy that being a good neighbor is about developing and investing in the community in which one lives and does business. So when approached by local high school students to help with their in-school food drives, Patterson-Schwartz was pleased to partner with them in their effort to address hunger issues in the community. In late February/early March 2012 Patterson-Schwartz spread the word throughout their offices and on the company Facebook page to visit their Newark, Greenville and Hockessin locations to drop off non-perishable food items before the deadline. Patterson-Schwartz was happy to see that with the support and generosity of their staff, sales associates and members of the public, they were able to collect over 670 lbs of items during a period of only three weeks. The results of their efforts helped their partnering schools gather over 1100lbs total for the Food Bank of Delaware. Michele Fidance, National Director for the Jefferson Awards for Public Service, thanked Patterson-Schwartz for their efforts, stating “some of would not have even collected 100 lbs without the assistance of Patterson-Schwartz.”
