Mobile Real Estate, LLC recently became the first mobile solutions provider for real estate to launch an international short code, the company has announced. The short code, 85377, which has been in use here in the U.S. since 2008 in conjunction with the Mobile Real Estate ID (MRE ID) solution for real estate agents, is now also approved with all major Canadian mobile carriers.
Previously, Canadian real estate professionals could utilize the Single Property Mobile Websites and QR Code creation and management tools within the MRE ID platform, but with 85377 now approved in Canada, they can utilize the complete Mobile toolset. The approval will allow Canadian real estate professionals to utilize Mobile ID’s (keywords) on their property listings. These Mobile ID’s, when sent via SMS (text message) to the short code 85377, will instantly return property information and a link to the Single Property Mobile Website to the consumer. Simultaneously, because of the way the SMS / short code technology is designed, the real estate professional is able to capture the interested consumer’s contact information and is sent an alert via text and e-mail in real time.
According to the company, Mobile Real Estate, LLC currently delivers over 55 thousand leads a month to participating real estate agents here in the U.S. through their MRE ID platform. Mobile engagement by real estate consumers continues to grow and SMS is a big part of that growth.
“We have always wanted to be able to offer our complete solution to our Canadian clients because we know how powerful SMS can be for them,” says John Lim, Founder and CEO of Mobil Real Estate, “Not only was the time right, but we now have a great partner in The Real Estate Book with whom bringing this technology to the Canadian Market becomes all the more powerful through the combination of SMS and print advertisement.”
The Real Estate Book, who partnered with Mobile Real Estate in 2011, will now provide the SMS lead generation service at no additional charge to all of their Canadian Advertisers as they do for their advertisers here in the U.S. ”This has been part of our offering in the U.S. since late 2011. We’re thrilled to be able to add it to our Canadian markets as well.” said Scott Dixon, President of The Real Estate Book.
According to the company, the Canadian real estate market remains strong with over 108,000 home sold in the first quarter of the year, which is 5 percent above the five-year average for 1st quarter sales, 3.8 percent above the 10-year average and 4.4 percent above the first quarter of last year. With an increase in transactions and “the spring housing market off to a good start,” according to Wayne Moen, President of the Canadian Real Estate Association, access to real estate information, in particular on mobile devices, is more important than ever before. Canadian real estate professionals now have the option to use this service from MRE ID that is specifically designed to meet the needs of today’s real estate professionals.
