RISMEDIA, August 28, 2013–A strong education system is the backbone for any town. Good schools support to a strong real estate market. The Eastern Bergen County Board of REALTORS® (EBCBOR) Community Service Committee and Bergen County Young Professionals Network (YPN) wanted to assure that all area students are as strong and successful as the school system. As members of the Northern NJ Business Volunteer Council (BVC), EBCBOR collected school supplies for “Tools for School” and held a culminating Business-After Hours Benefit at Waterside on N.J’s Gold Coast to provide funding and essential supplies to Bergen County students in need this Fall.
Jorge Ledesma, RE/MAX Quality Homes and EBCBOR first vice president said, “EBCBOR immediately jumped at the opportunity to help Bergen County students in need when we learned about Tools for School.” He said, “As REALTORS®, we are often asked, ‘How are the schools?’, EBCBOR felt it was important for our members to be a part of making that answer a positive one in our Bergen County communities.”
EBCBOR is helping the BVC meet their goal of collecting $35,000 in school supplies this year. Every August, the BVC coordinates a back-to-school supply drive, then works with partner agencies to deliver items collected by the corporate members to children throughout the region.
During the Business-After Hours Benefit, sponsored by Daniel Barli, Esq. of Barli and Associates and Main Street Title, more than 125 REALTORS®, Industry Professionals and Civic Leaders gathered to support and celebrate students in Bergen County.
