If rising sponsorship revenue is a sign of what’s to come, then corporate brands are stepping up their presence in the Hispanic homebuyer market. Executives at the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals report a 30 percent increase in sponsor support for their upcoming national convention that is set to kick off in Los Angeles next week at the JW Marriott at LA Live. Now in its 12th year, the annual meeting – which is the industry’s largest forum on the Hispanic homebuyer market – is expected to break last year’s attendance record of 2100.
“In a year when other industry conferences are experiencing low turnouts and decreasing sponsor revenue, NAHREP is seeing a surge in attendance and vendor interest. We believe this is reflective of the accelerated role of Latinos in the US marketplace and corporate interest in this powerhouse consumer segment,” says Gary Acosta, NAHREP CEO and co-founder.
In line with increased sponsor support and practitioner attendance, the association also reports a 50 percent increase in exhibitor interest in the conference expo.
The annual conference attracts housing experts, corporate executives, elected officials and Latino real estate leaders from across the nation. This year media mogul Nely Galan, Zillow Chief Spencer Rascoff, Quicken Loans CEO Bill Emerson, Realogy CEO Alex Perriello and MBA CEO David Stevens are among the dignitaries set to meet with the group of Hispanic real estate professionals. Immigration reform, the impact of new regulations introduced by the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau and the continued housing shortage are among the topics Hispanic leaders will discuss.
As part of this year’s program, the association will also recognize the top 250 Hispanic real estate agents in the nation, and honor two leaders with NAHREP’s Founder’s Award for their efforts to improve access to homeownership for Latinos. The meetings will also include experts and breakout sessions on key issues like new regulations, the current lending environment, marketing strategies and technology.
