Hats off to the class of 2015! With graduation season upon us, let’s take a look at three ways to attract the next generation of professionals to your brokerage.
Engage with collegiate groups. Make a list of the local colleges in your region—remember, they don’t have to be in your immediate city or town—and make a point to engage with relevant extracurricular groups and university divisions. Places like the Career Services office, career fairs and business interest clubs are all great to forge relationships with. Getting on radar screens early and often is a great way to get the attention of graduates!
Host your own career-focused events. Going straight to the source at universities is a great tactic, but so is having them come to you. Partner with your local Chamber of Commerce to host Coffee and Conversation events with individuals interested in real estate to answer questions and get to know your team. Try cocktail networking events or even bringing in a business school professor to provide an academic perspective.
Social, social, social! Beyond physical events, it’s time to turn attention to the virtual (and social) world. This year’s graduates are ever-more social media focused, so make sure to amp up your social media game to catch their eye. Share photos of day-to-day practices, industry events and fun cultural elements of working on your team. It all counts!
