The real estate professionals at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty recently whipped up a smorgasbord of picnic-style fare and hosted a dinner to guests at the Gabriel House of Care.
The REALTORS came to the Gabriel House to prepare and serve a summer picnic of fried chicken, hot dogs, potato salad and other popular side dishes. Located on the Mayo Clinic Florida campus, the nonprofit hospitality house is an affordable home away from home where cancer and organ transplant patients receiving treatment in Jacksonville can stay with their caregivers.
“Our team thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Gabriel House,” says Broker/Manager Christine Scalf of the Mandarin/St. Johns office. “It was inspiring to meet and talk with the guests. We received so much joy from volunteering for this wonderful organization.”
Since 2011, Gabriel House has served more than 700 guest visits annually to people from 35 states and eight foreign countries. The organization requires a pool of volunteers to assist with daily tasks including meal preparation, cleaning and office work.
“We are honored to support the Gabriel House,” says Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty Broker/Executive Vice President Christy Budnick. “Our team is connected to the community and passionately supports many charitable organizations and events. We believe it is important to give back, help others in need and make our community the best it can be.”
