On The Move recently announced they have acquired Detroit Custom Coach, Michigan’s premier food truck manufacturer and service center. Operating out of Oak Park, Mich., Detroit Custom Coach is the center of the food truck community in Southeast Michigan.
“I am excited that we can now offer our customers trucks of all sizes and work with all budgets. We have offered only one design in the past and can now help every customer,” says Robert Mikalonis, Director of Food Trucks for On The Move.
Detroit Custom Coach has worked with national clients from Velveeta to Jim Beam, to local Michigan favorites such as Motor City Casino and Delectabowl. Detroit Custom Coach strives to maintain community relationships through workshops and a presence at local festivals and rallies.
On The Move is thrilled to add these custom trucks to their already successful innovative food truck design. They have worked with Purdue University, Church’s Chicken, CST Brands, and many other national brands and campuses. On The Move’s food trucks offer their patent pending extended slide out, allowing eye to eye customer interaction and increased crew and equipment space. Detroit Custom Coach works with existing step vans and customizes the interior with the kitchen equipment and stainless package needed to prepare and serve your menu items.
On The Move started in Dearborn, Michigan, January 28, 1992. Founder, Maury Westerdale, recognized the need for a commercial truck lease program for self-managed local rental trucks, allowing the owner/operator to set their own rates and advertise their company at the same time. The ingenuity of Mr. Westerdale evolved into a turnkey truck lease program that launched On The Move into the fourth largest truck rental fleet in the United States.
The acquisition will allow Detroit Custom Coach to create more local jobs and fulfill orders for all types of clients nationwide. Through superior customer service and quality innovative products, On The Move provides their Licensees the ability to add value and profits to their business.
