Looking to fortify your real estate future? In September, RISMedia will kick off its 2016 Real Estate CEO Exchange, an intimate gathering of some of real estate’s most influential and dynamic leaders.
Held on on Sept. 13 and 14 at the Harvard Club of New York City, RISMedia’s CEO Exchange,”Seizing the Day, Winning the Future,” will uncover strategies for focusing on the present while planning for what lay ahead, so that brokers can maximize current market opportunities and build a strong business plan for the future.
On Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 3:45 p.m., RISMedia’s CEO Exchange will take a look at the viability of new brokerage models that are punctuating the traditional real estate landscape during the following session:
The Evolution of the Real Estate Model: What’s Working and Why
From concept companies that have abandoned the traditional brokerage business model to veteran brokers who have successfully evolved their firms to meet changing market demands, get a look under the hood at some of the organizations that are taking a different approach to succeeding in real estate.
Moderator:
Jon Coile, CEO & President, Champion Realty, Inc., a HomeServices of America company.
Champion is a multi-office regional brokerage based in Annapolis, Md., with mortgage, title and insurance subsidiaries. Coile got into real estate in 1988 and became a multimillion- dollar agent. In 1991, he became a partner in Champion Realty and held many positions in the company, including branch manager, new homes director, IT director, general manager, and ultimately president and CEO.
Panelists:
Robert Reffkin, Founder & CEO, Compass Real Estate
Prior to Compass, Reffkin worked at Goldman Sachs as chief of staff to the president and COO following five years working in the firm’s private equity arm. Prior to Goldman Sachs, he worked at Lazard and McKinsey & Company. In 2005, he was appointed as a White House Fellow to serve as special assistant to the Secretary of the Treasury.
Chris Lim, Founder & CEO, Climb Real Estate
Climb offers a comprehensive array of brokerage and marketing services for residential buyers, sellers and developers. Under Lim’s leadership, Climb has become the fastest- growing boutique brokerage representing some of the finest properties in San Francisco. Inspired by his father’s custom-home construction company and his mother’s independent real estate practice, Lim created a highly nimble and creative agency, committed to superior service and innovation.
JW Webb, CEO & Founder, Professional Realty Services; HomeSmart Advisors
After building a national mortgage company to 76 offices in 24 states, Webb sold his company in October 2004 to find more balance in his family life. In June 2005, he launched his first real estate office as an independent brokerage. Today, the company has grown to 11 regional operation centers with agents in 118 markets throughout Washington, Oregon and Idaho by creating an agent-centric culture that empowers agents with coaching, cutting edge systems, technologies, and seven-days-a-week broker support.
John Vatistas, Founder & CEO, Launch Real Estate
Launched in November 2015, this startup has already attracted 100+ agents who all represent the top tier in pricing and production in the area. This isn’t Vatistas’ first run in real estate. In 2005, he founded Equitable, an invitation-only real estate brokerage that began with two agents and rapidly grew to 275 agents in two years.
Vince Leisey, CEO, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Ambassador Real Estate
For someone driven by passion and positivity, Vince is most motivated by the word “no.” During his nearly 30-year career in real estate—from salesperson to successful broker and company president—Leisey says what pushed him to build his business from good to great were the critics who told him success wasn’t possible. In over a decade at the helm of Omaha-based Ambassador Real Estate, Leisey turned that adversity into achievement, leading his company to both financial and charitable prosperity.
