Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate All Seasons has partnered with non-profit New Story to raise funds for a home for a family in need in El Salvador, the company recently announced. The goal of the fundraiser, which runs until December 31, 2016, is $6,000.
“In an increasingly divided world, it’s more important than ever to care for our neighbors both at home and abroad,” says Kevin Sharkey, president and CEO of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate All Seasons. “How we treat others, especially people in need, defines who we are. We are so proud to be partnering with New Story to help build a home for a family that needs it—plus, you now there’s nothing REALTORS® love more than helping people into homes.”
Motivating the company’s decision to partner with New Story is the transparency of its model—because operations are paid for by separate investors, every dollar given goes directly to building homes—and its move-in videos, which feature the exact family helped by the donation.
“Our 100-percent model and move-in videos are how we’re providing a unique experience for donors,” says Brett Hagler, CEO of New Story. “We don’t want giving to just be a transaction. We strive to create an experience that truly shows donors how much their donation means to these families.”
