After announcing Atlanta as its next play this summer, Zillow has begun buying and listing in the market through the Offers program—its first outside of the West, and third overall. The brand will be represented by Realty ONE Group Edge in Woodstock.
In July, Zillow partnered with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties and Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers, two firms in the market. Aside from Atlanta, Offers is currently in Las Vegas and Phoenix, with Denver on the horizon.
“In the few short months Zillow Offers has been operating in our first two markets, we’ve seen strong interest from home sellers,” said Jeremy Wacksman, brand president at Zillow, in a statement. “We have heard how valuable it is to them to be able to sell on their timeline, with transparency and certainty. We’re excited to bring Zillow Offers to Atlanta-area homeowners and empower them with more control, convenience and certainty during the home-selling process.”
“Consumers today are demanding services that make the entire home-selling process easier and are tailored to their unique circumstances—a goal we strive to deliver for our clients every day,” said Greg Sanders, co-founder/owner of the Sanders Team with Realty ONE Group Edge. “With Zillow Offers, we are taking this commitment to the next level and pairing our local expertise with Zillow’s relentless commitment to serving the consumer. We’re excited to help bring a better real estate experience to Atlanta.”
With Instant Offers, homeowners can obtain an offer from Zillow; if accepted, the homeowner chooses the closing date, and Zillow conducts a free home inspection.
Eighty-seven percent of agents and brokers believed Offers was a move by Zillow “toward becoming a brokerage,” according to a June 2017 RISMedia survey. This month, Zillow Group Senior Director of Broker Relations TG Gallaudet discussed disruption in the industry—and innovation—at RISMedia’s 2018 Real Estate CEO Exchange.
