Have you ever asked yourself, “What’s my purpose?” Many of us struggle when it comes to answering this question. It’s clear we’re on this planet for a reason; however, the challenge is to discover that reason and then dedicate our lives to pursuing it with passion. As Mark Twain once wrote, “The two most important days of your life are the day you’re born and the day you find out why.”
So, how can you find your purpose and pursue your dreams? First, you must identify your “why”—the force that drives you toward your purpose. The definition of purpose is “the reason for which someone exists or something is done”—but your purpose isn’t just one thing, and it isn’t static. It can change and be refined over time. The most important thing is to state and declare your purpose so that you can stay on track and realize your potential.
The next thing you should do is focus on your purpose. Write it down and then define goals to help you achieve your purpose. By declaring your purpose and staying focused, distractions and obstacles are less discouraging. When faced with a challenge, it will be easier to find the lesson that can be applied to helping you achieve your goals. Your focus will help drive your purpose.
Once you define and focus on your purpose, you should find support through other like-minded people and events. Other on-purpose peers can provide insight to help you stay focused. Seminars and events that focus on personal development will not only motivate you, but also provide expert advice on how to stay dedicated to your purpose.
