Another weekend with no plans? Maybe you’re under mandated “stay-at-home” rules, or maybe you’re just sticking it out at home until everything blows over. Whatever the reason, this is the ideal opportunity to work on your digital offerings since real estate transactions are largely being done online.
Here are a few things you can focus on:
Your Website
If you haven’t given your site a good update in a while, here’s your chance. You can re-do the entire layout, giving it a fresh revamp, or you can make some minor changes so that your content really pops. How about starting a blog on your site? You can discuss local real estate news or even do blog-style write-ups for your listings, focusing on the lifestyle brand of the homes. You can also add a video section to your site where you can post educational content, virtual home showings, marketing videos, etc.
Open Houses
Since many are social distancing right now, offering virtual open houses can keep the interest going on your listings. Host a live event so that only you are visiting your clients’ home in person. This way, you are still available for on-the-spot questions. At the start, you can provide a little tour with your phone or tablet, walking the “visitors” through the properties most sought-after amenities, telling them about the neighborhood and informing them about popular eateries and funs spots around the town.
Virtual Staging
If you have a seller that has a vacant home, take the time to do some virtual staging so the listing really stands out. It can be hard for prospective buyers to visualize a space if there’s no furniture in it, so adding some digital decor can really give them an idea of the space and how it can be utilized. Just remember to match the style of furniture with the style of home, as well as keep in mind decor trends. Be thoughtful about how you are placing the furniture and how much you are putting in a room—you don’t want to overload it, but you also don’t want to make it too sparse.
There’s an endless list of digital offerings you can work on right now. The key is staying productive even if you’re having to work from home.
Agents, what type of online offerings are you leveraging?
