The nation’s housing industry and business leaders will gather at NAHREP’s 2015 National Convention & Latin Music Festival, a three-day, world-class event sponsored by Quicken Loans that spotlights the latest developments in Hispanic real estate and lending markets. NAHREP’s convention combines business sessions led by the nation’s chief practitioners and advisers with cultural elements, showcasing an assortment of Latino music, dance and culinary arts. NAHREP’s closing party will feature a Latino food festival, Sabores: A Culinary Experience, with dishes created by a celebrity Latino chef. The event’s brimming expo hall will feature dozens of the housing industry’s foremost companies exhibiting their innovative products and services.
Key speakers at the event include Darren Hardy, publisher of the world renowned Success Magazine; Esai Morales, award-winning actor and activist featured in the classic movie, La Bamba; Julissa Arce, former investment banker turned activist; Bill Emerson, CEO of Quicken Loans; Brad Blackwell, executive vice president of Wells Fargo; Dave Liniger, CEO and co-founder of RE/MAX; and Dr. Lynn Fisher, vice president of research and economics at the Mortgage Bankers Association. The Sabores food festival will feature a Latino-inspired menu by top chef, Douglas Rodriguez. Also present will be Teresa Palacios Smith, 2015 NAHREP president and vice president at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties; Gary Acosta, CEO and co-founder of NAHREP; Patty Arvielo, NAHREP Corporate Board of Governors chair and president and co-founder of New American Funding; and Gerardo “Jerry” Ascencio, NAHREP Foundation chair.

NAHREP Latina Brunch
For the second year in a row, NAHREP celebrates Latinas in the industry through the Latina Brunch, an afternoon of men and women alike joining together in the spirit of Latina entrepreneurship. A former vice president and director at Merrill Lynch, Julissa Arce, owed her prolific career on Wall Street to fake papers she bought in a stranger’s living room. Her ambition and drive for the American promise of success propelled her bright career. Not fitting the stereotype of an undocumented immigrant, Julissa was on a fast path toward success when she left her career in finance to join Define American, an immigrant’s rights advocacy group. Julissa shares her unapologetic story of unconventional success and personal fulfillment at the second annual Latina Brunch.

A warm welcome kicks off the 2015 convention featuring special guest, Esai Morales, American actor and activist, and a keynote address by Gary Acosta, NAHREP CEO and co-founder on “Nuevo Latino’s: Having The Courage To Become Who We Really Are.” Also highlighted will be Hispanic Wealth Project announcements regarding the 10-year plan to triple Hispanic household wealth and discussing the building momentum on programs, policies and initiatives. General Session II – Housing Industry Town Halls
Jerry Ascencio, NAHREP Foundation chair and star of “53 Million & One”, will present a video on NAHREP’s theatrical performance, share the journey of the production thus far and unveil the Nuevo Latino tour blueprint. A Top Producer panel will follow discussing best practices for success. Town halls will cover developments in mortgage origination, mortgage finance and real estate franchise.

Every year, the brightest agents from all cities across the country are closely considered for the Top 250 Latino Agent. This year, for the first time, NAHREP will also recognize the Top 250 Latino Mortgage Loan Originators. The Top 250 Latino agents and mortgage originators will receive special distinction at this session. Additionally, Darren Hardy, publisher of Success Magazine, will provide a keynote address “The Entrepreneur Roller Coaster: Why NOW is the time to #JoinTheRide”, giving audiences insight into the success strategies he’s learned from the most successful people on the planet, preparing them for the wild ride of entrepreneurship.
