ShowingTime’s Showing Index™ in August increased 7.1 percent at the national level from one year ago, with the Northeast having the highest year-over-year increase in showings at 10.3 percent, the company recently announced. Showings in the Midwest, South and West also increased, 7.1 percent, 4.5 percent and 4.1 percent, respectively.
“August continued to be busy across the country compared to last year,” says Daniiel Cherkasskiy, chief analytics officer at ShowingTime. “The South region as a whole still saw a year-over-year increase despite Hurricane Harvey hitting Houston and other areas of the region. We anticipate seeing a bigger impact from Hurricane Irma on the South Region in next month’s Showing Index.”
The Index tracks the average number of appointments received on an active listing during its lifecycle.
