James O’Bryon, CEO of RE/MAX Gold, has led the organization since 1998 and has overseen its growth from 75 agents and four offices to nearly 1,600 agents in 70 offices and 21 counties throughout California.
When O’Bryon decided in 2018 to align RE/MAX Gold, a market leader in Northern California, with longtime colleague Keith Myers, broker/owner and president of RE/MAX Olson & Associates in Southern California, the two companies combined to form the first RE/MAX brokerage to span the state of California and the largest independently owned RE/MAX in the world.
RE/MAX Gold | Olson & Associates ranked No. 13 in sales volume in RISMedia’s 2019 Power Broker Report, having sold a total of more than 15,250 homes for approximately $7.1 billion. O’Bryon, himself, was also honored among other 2019 industry rankings.
Regarding his role as CEO of RE/MAX Gold, he says, “I work with the best leadership teams in the industry to create a superior brokerage environment for our agents and their clients.”
A graduate of the University of the Pacific, O’Bryon was first licensed in 1982 and joined RE/MAX in 1993. He spent virtually his entire career in the real estate industry, experiencing every facet.
“We are here to serve. Serve the consumer, the agent and our communities,” says O’Bryon. “We are here to create harmony, not to celebrate disruption—unless that disruption serves our clients. I have not seen much of that kind of disruption.”
