As CEO of the Hudson Gateway Association of REALTORS®, Inc. (HGAR), Richard Haggerty spearheaded the creation of OneKey MLS, the New York metro area’s first regional multiple listing service.

In past years, Haggerty brokered HGAR’s absorption of the Manhattan Association of REALTORS®. He met with Manhattan brokers, quickly grasped their needs for accurate data and realized that a central listing service for the New York metro and greater suburban area would be an invaluable tool for the brokerage community. At the same time, Haggerty engaged in discussions with the Long Island Board of REALTORS®, Inc. (LIBOR) to create a regional MLS to help achieve this goal. The MLS took shape, and HGAR and LIBOR launched the new OneKey MLS name and brand in late 2019.

“Maintaining the status quo is a sure recipe for disaster. We cannot afford to simply react to change—we have to anticipate change and creatively drive change in a way that benefits the brokerage community and the consumer,” says Haggerty, who also serves as president of OneKey MLS. “This MLS will make it easier for brokers to access accurate data that covers the entire region, from the Hamptons through Manhattan and the boroughs into the Hudson Valley.”

Haggerty has been with HGAR, an association with over 12,000 members, for almost 35 years. He has been a speaker and instructor for numerous state and local REALTOR® associations, as well as served on National Association of REALTORS® committees.
