Vince Malta, vice president and broker of San Francisco real estate firm Malta & Co., Inc., is the 2020 president of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).
In 2019, Malta enhanced the value of membership by supporting investment in proptech companies that provide services to help members better serve their customers. He also supported community development by strongly advocating at the local, state and national levels. He highlighted the contributions of members to their communities and worked with commercial and affiliate members to support housing and business and to promote economic development. In addition, he partnered with a coalition of professional organizations and groups to promote housing affordability and equality while representing the views and needs of all stakeholders.
In his more than 40 years in the real estate industry, Malta has played countless roles. He has served on NAR’s board of directors since 2002, was the 2010 and 2011 vice president of government affairs, and represented NAR by testifying before Congress on issues such as the impact of increasing conforming loan limits, insurance reform and housing policy. Malta has also been a director of the California Association of REALTORS® (CAR) since 1988. He later became an honorary state director for life and was elected president of CAR in 2006.
Malta emphasizes the importance of collaboration to achieve common goals. He cites a quote by Edward Everett Hale: “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.”
