Rory Golod is the regional president of Compass’ New York region, where he oversees strategy and operations for over 2,000 agents, 24 offices and 200 employees. Golod has led the company’s expansion across the region, and his efforts recently garnered some local media attention in Westchester.
According to Westchester Magazine, Compass has quickly grown and become “the company to watch” after entering the area’s residential market just a year-and-a-half ago. Compass has seven local offices and recorded about $228 million in sales volume in Westchester in the first six months of 2019. That’s a 45 percent increase over the same period in 2018.
Golod attributes Compass’ rapid success in the area to its marketing, brand, culture and technology. Regarding the latter, he told Westchester Magazine, “It’s not technology for the sake of technology. We’ve built tools that help agents save time, grow their businesses and improve their quality of life. We use technology to create great experiences for agents, and they can then do the same for their clients.”
Golod also recently served as a panelist at RISMedia’s 2019 Real Estate CEO Exchange in New York, where he shared his insights on the current state and future of the industry. Before taking on his current role as a regional president in 2018, Golod served as chief of staff to Compass Founder and CEO Robert Reffkin. He previously worked at Bloomberg LP and graduated from the University of Richmond.
