RISMEDIA, Oct. 23, 2007-The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) presented Halstead Property with the first place Deal of the Year prize for the third consecutive year. Dean Feldman and Edith K. Meyer, Halstead agents in the Westside office, received the first place honor while Linda VanderWoude, a Halstead Brooklyn Agent, received the second place prize. This marks the first time in award history that a real estate firm has won the award for three consecutive years. REBNY received more than 30 nominations for the coveted award.
Halstead Property’s President, Diane M. Ramirez, was presented by REBNY’s Henry Forster Award. Instituted in 1990, the award is presented annually to a real estate professional with an outstanding record of achievement and conduct both within the industry and in the community.
“I am truly honored to receive such a prestigious award. The Henry Forster Award represents one of the industry’s highest achievements and I am thrilled to be a recipient,” said Diane M. Ramirez, president of Halstead Property. She continued “This marks the first time in REBNY history that a real estate firm has won the Deal of the Year first place prize for three years in a row. As the highest REBNY honor for a residential broker, the Deal of the Year exemplifies the hard work, determination and creativity that an agent must have to succeed in this business. We are truly delighted and honored that our talented agents received this well-deserved recognition for their difficult and challenging deals.”
A committee of past Henry Forster Award winners review nominations that must include information on four categories: outstanding achievement and success in residential real estate sales or rentals; display of exemplary character and ethical conduct in the profession; contribution to and achievement within organizations in the industry but outside his/her own firm; and contributions and achievements to cultural, charitable, and community organizations outside the real estate industry.
A panel of judges including the REBNY Board of Governors and the Deal of the Year Committee reviews each Deal of the Year entry based on four criteria: creativity, ingenuity, professionalism and skill. To ensure a fair review of each submission, the award entries exclude company information, street address, and clients’ names. Details of Halstead Property’s two winning deals were not disclosed due to privacy concerns. In addition to receiving the first place honor, Feldman and Meyers received a $1,500 donation to the charity of their choice, the New York-based Partnership for the Homeless.
In its 19th year of existence, the Residential Deal of the Year Award and Charity Gala was held last evening at Guastavino’s and was attended by more than 500 influential and well-respected real estate professionals in the industry.
