RISMEDIA, Oct. 30, 2007-Real Estate Business Services Inc. (REBS) announced the appointment of REALTOR® Richard Mendenhall, of RE/MAX Boone Realty in Columbia, Mo., to its board of directors.
REBS is a subsidiary of the California Association of Realtors® (C.A.R.) and is a leading provider of real estate products and services to practitioners in California.
Through its RE FormsNet (REFN) subsidiary, REBS’ family of tech-savvy products has become the recognized industry standard for electronic real estate forms and transaction management systems and currently are used by more real estate professionals than any other real estate software program. REBS also is a partner in Real Estate Broker Owner Solutions LLC, which is developing analytical tools and training to improve brokerage profitability.
“The REBS board is one of the very first and most successful subsidiaries of any Realtor organization in the real estate industry,” Mendenhall said. “And as part of the California Association of Realtors, I am humbled and honored to be asked to serve on its board.”
Mendenhall served as president for the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) in 2001. In that role, he established the Realtors’ Housing Relief Fund in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks. The fund collected and paid out more than $8.5 million in less than 100 days to families of victims by funding three months of their mortgage and rental payments.
Mendenhall also established the NAR HOPE Awards, honoring groups and individuals across America who have helped hundreds of thousands of minority families become homeowners.
He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from the University of Missouri, and in 1968 he served as a Green Beret military advisor in Vietnam. Mendenhall is an active member of numerous community groups, including the Columbia Housing Authority. He is married to Denice Mendenhall and has two children, Elizabeth and Ford.
