Nina Magnesson says employees at BoomTown bring inspiration, creativity and whole-hearted drive to their work, as well as their families and communities. As the company’s Catalyst for Social Innovation, she created BoomTownLOVE, the company’s philanthropic arm, to embrace that spirit and give back.
The company encourages workforce development through tech education and removing barriers to homeownership. Over the past two years, BoomTown has also supported families, clients, and communities impacted by natural disasters, social justice issues and the pandemic.
Magnesson quoted Mother Teresa, who said, “Love begins at home.” According to Magnesson, “The right to housing is the economic, social, and cultural right to adequate housing and shelter. It is recognized in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.”
Magnesson and her team have been devoted to helping the residents of Joseph Floyd Manor. BoomTown employees have raised awareness of substandard housing conditions and have donated food, toiletries, and other goods to assist residents.
