“It’s okay to not feel okay.”
That’s what Jeffrey Stone wants everyone to know. The last two years or so have been some of the most isolated, frightening and uncertain that many people have experienced in their entire lives. In 2021, Stone took his message to the streets, partnering with community members and other stakeholders in his Long Island community to form Project HELP, bringing awareness to the ongoing mental health crisis and co-occurring addictions and other diseases. Through education and connecting people to resources, Stone and his coalition changed hundreds of lives, bringing experts, spiritual leaders and health professionals together to address the myriad of challenges his neighbors have faced. With courage and conviction, Stone has made a tremendous difference this year as a true advocate for the people he sees and serves every day, joining hands to face down the mental health crisis and look out for anyone struggling in his community.
