RISMEDIA, Nov. 6, 2007-Century 21 Real Estate LLC announced that for the fifth consecutive year it will hold its national scholarship awards program, granting three deserving young people each a $10,000 educational scholarship.
“With the rising costs associated with providing higher education, the CENTURY 21® National Scholarship Program is one of our most anticipated events with our System members each year,” said Tom Kunz, president and CEO of Century 21 Real Estate LLC. “Together with the help of Realogy, we are helping to make dreams of a college education come true.”
Through this annual scholarship program, the CENTURY 21 System has awarded a total of $120,000 in scholarships since 2004. The CENTURY 21 System will announce the three 2008 scholarship recipients on stage during the CENTURY 21 International Convention in Orlando, Fla., in March 2008.
Hector Gonzales, one of the three recipients of the CENTURY 21 2007 scholarship award, is in his third year of a five-year program studying architecture at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
With the scholarship, Gonzales was able to stop working at a part-time job, which helped pay for his education, and use that time to focus full-time on his studies. Since last March, Gonzales has improved his grade point average to 3.6 from 3.3 and has become involved in the University’s student government – two achievements that Gonzales believes will help get him into graduate school.
“The CENTURY 21 scholarship has been a real blessing to me this year, allowing me to focus 100 percent of my efforts on my studies,” said Gonzales, whose mother, Eva Dominguez, is a sales professional with CENTURY 21 Ambassador in Brea, Calif. “I can’t tell you what a difference it has made for me and my mom this year.”
