RISMEDIA, July 9, 2008-Most homeowners don’t consider moving a simple task. Whether it’s down the block or across the country, it’s a nerve-wracking process that all homeowners must endure before finally unlocking the door to their dream home. Between pricing moving companies and boxing up their belongings, most would hope there’s an easier way to go about it.
Enter the Move Advocate, a free resource to help relocating homeowners coordinate their move. For real estate agent Gabe Essoe, “The Property Guy,” offering the services of the Move Advocate is one way to ensure the utmost customer service experience for his clients-a must in today’s industry.
“Moving a distance of any kind is overwhelming,” says Essoe. “You’re relocating your whole life. If you have professional help that provides the resources and estimates to make decisions, you can then trust the person you place your possessions with, which is a relief. And if you’re referred to the person or company that is there to help through the entire process-that’s huge.”
According to Essoe, his initial decision to work with the Move Advocate a few years back was an easy one. As someone who believes that client service is a number-one priority, teaming up with the company was one more way to treat his customers the way he would want and expect to be treated.
“I have heard horror stories about people getting ripped off by companies who lose or damage their belongings in the moving process,” says Essoe, who serves California’s Contra Costa and Alameda counties. “The reason I started to refer my clients to the Move Advocate was because although they could call someone on their own, when you deal with the Move Advocate, you have a company with clout behind you.”
Once Essoe puts a client in touch with the Move Advocate, a personal move counselor assesses the individual’s moving needs.
“Our contact there is the epitome of the high-service standards that the Move Advocate established for themselves and uses to build a continuing referral clientele. They make it very easy for a client who is moving,” says Essoe. “They set up bids, estimates for time, scheduling, and provide multiple estimates with companies you recognize.”
The Move Advocate takes the lead on coordinating all aspects of the move until the homeowner is settled in their new home.
“They’ve been a wonderful resource,” he says. “I know that if I refer a client to them, they will be taken care of because will stand behind the client. They offer additional insurance, reliability, not-to-exceed estimates, etc., and if there’s an accident or misschedule/delivery, the Move Advocate provides the client an easier time than if they were to move by themselves.”
What’s more, the agent is kept in the loop during the process. After connecting the client to a service representative, they will follow-up with how the process is going.
“Once I refer someone to them, I can trust them to take the ball, put it together and follow it to completion,” says Essoe. “They give me enough information so I don’t have to worry-all I have to do is make the initial connection.”
“The benefits as an agent recommending these services-other than knowing your client is in good hands-are the referrals the client will give to someone else interested in a move,” says Essoe. “If I were moving cross country or to another state I would have them set it up for me-there’s no higher endorsement than that.
“My client is in good hands and the bottom line in our business is that the client has to be taken care of. If they’re not happy, no one’s happy.”
