RISMEDIA, June 11, 2009-RE/MAX announced that it’s continuing its worldwide growth with the sale of the franchise rights for the Western Australia region. Respected real estate veteran, Geoff Baldwin, is the new regional owner. The five Geoff Baldwin Realty Group offices, and staff of 60, will merge with existing RE/MAX offices in the area, and will now be known as RE/MAX Western Australia.
“It’s an honor to be joined by such an experienced professional as Geoff,” said Bill Soteroff, senior vice president of International Development with RE/MAX International. “Geoff and his staff are extremely knowledgeable about the local marketplace, they provide excellent customer service, and they’re going to fit perfectly into the RE/MAX system.”
According to the company, Geoff Baldwin is a well known trainer and real estate leader, who has over 22 years of experience in the local marketplace. He has served in numerous executive positions with notable organizations, and founded the Geoff Baldwin Realty Group in 2007. He has also served as Councilor and Treasurer of the Real Estate Institute of Western Australia, and is a founding shareholder and Director of the Board of Real Estate of Western Australia.
“Through our alliance with RE/MAX, I’m confident we’ll be able to provide a higher quality service to our customers,” said Baldwin. “And we’re hoping in a few short years that will result in the growth to more than 30 new offices,” said Baldwin.
While RE/MAX began operations in Australia in 1997 and already has offices in Western Australia, the company’s presence will double its size in the state with the addition of the Baldwin offices. The sale of franchise rights in Western Australia is one of many recent successes “down under.” In the last 18 months, RE/MAX of Australia has added more than 35 individual franchises to their national network.
Despite economic pressures, RE/MAX is also experiencing rapid growth around the world. In just the last six months, eight new countries have joined the real estate network including; Albania, Bahamas, Brazil, Ecuador, India, Macedonia, Singapore and Uruguay. In 2008, RE/MAX sold over 700 franchises worldwide and now has nearly 7,000 offices in more than 70 countries and territories, an international presence greater than any of its competitors.
“RE/MAX is a clear leader in real estate, recognized around the world,” said Baldwin. “The credibility of the brand, its international influence, and extensive resources will all be tremendous assets to our staff, as we work toward the goal of being a powerful force in Western Australia.”
Occupying the entire western third of the Australian continent, Western Australia is by far the largest state in the country. The capital city of Perth has over 75% of the state’s two million inhabitants.
