RISMEDIA, June 16, 2009-Kinlin Grover GMAC Real Estate, one of Massachusetts’ most-respected residential real estate firms serving Cape Cod and the islands, has been sold to Randall Realtors GMAC Real Estate.
The two companies coming together means the combined organization is now one of the of the largest real estate brokerage firms in New England.
Combined, the two companies now have 18 offices, more than 400 sales associates and employees, and more than $700 million in sales in 2008. They will continue to operate under their current names.
Kinlin Grover’s 11 offices are located in: Barnstable, Brewster, Chatham, Falmouth, Harwich Port, Orleans, Osterville, Sandwich, South Yarmouth, Wellfleet, and Yarmouth Port.
Randall Realtors offices are located in Rhode Island and Connecticut. The five Rhode Island offices are in: Charlestown, North Kingston, Wakefield, Watch Hill and Westerly. In Connecticut, the company’s offices are in Mystic and Waterford.
“I can’t begin to describe how excited I am to bring these two great companies together and what it will mean in terms of benefits to clients when it comes to buying, selling or leasing properties,” said longtime real estate industry veteran Doug Randall, CEO of Randall Realtors. “Mike Schlott of Randall Realtors has been instrumental in putting this deal together for us and is a key partner in this acquisition,” Randall said. “For our customers, it means increased exposure of their homes for sale on a regional and national level, additional services, access to more properties and greater marketing support.”
“This is truly a situation which brings together two highly regarded companies from separate, yet complementary markets. We plan to keep all of the offices and are looking to grow by adding additional sales associates,” Randall added. “Joining forces creates a tremendous opportunity to expand our local presence into a formidable, regional firm with $700 million dollars in sales.”
Bringing the two companies together has substantial benefits for the company’s sales associates as well, according to Randall. “By working for one company in distinct, non-competing markets, our sales associates will benefit from comprehensive training and educational materials, and enhanced purchasing power through combined ads, marketing programs, referrals and other media resources. Our sales associates are now part of one of the largest real estate brokerage firms in New England.”
Randall has been involved in real estate since 1977 when he founded H.D. Randall Realtors in Charlestown, Rhode Island. Under his leadership, the company has grown to seven offices while developing a reputation for delivering quality service in the areas of property sales, summer and year-round rentals, property management and relocation. This purchase demonstrates Randall’s firm belief in the ability of these two already strong companies to grow and prosper, in partnership with its new parent company, Brookfield Residential Property Services.
Kinlin Grover will continue to be managed locally by Executive Vice President Bett McCarthy, respectful of Cape Cod’s unique and very community-based geography and culture.
McCarthy, whose real estate career also spans three decades, most recently served as regional vice president of Kinlin Grover. During her distinguished career, she has held a variety of senior positions in the regional real estate industry, including serving as executive director of the Greater Boston Association of Realtors.
Says McCarthy, “I, along with the Kinlin Grover management team, are looking forward to working together with our new owner, Doug Randall, as we continue to deliver superior service and results to those we serve in our communities.”
