RISMEDIA, August 31, 2009-Rei Mesa, president and chief operating officer, Prudential Florida Real Estate Services was recently appointed by FAR President, Cynthia Shelton to serve as the Chairman of the FAR Real Estate Services Group during the FAR Convention that took place in Orlando last week. The FAR Leadership Team and Directors came together to establish the Florida Real Estate Services Group which is comprised of the Top 50 Real Estate “Large Firm” Companies in Florida. As the real estate industry is such a monumental part of the economic recovery process in Florida, the establishment of the Florida Real Estate Services Group is monumental at this time.
Mesa gladly accepted the responsibility of Chairman of the group with the personal goal of advancing issues at FAR that are extremely important to the entire real estate industry as well as Florida residents. The Real Estate Services Group’s focus is to lead the Florida Real Estate industry into a full recovery and to assist its residents in achieving the American Dream of Homeownership.
After the introductions and opening remarks from FAR President Cynthia Shelton and Chairman Rei Mesa, the meeting covered a plethora of timely topics including the Review of Senate Bill 360 as well as The Condo Insurance and Appraisal Management Company legislation. Dr. Lawrence Yun, NAR’s Chief Economist & Senior Vice President of Research also joined the meeting for an economic overview of the real estate market. John Sebree, FAR Vice President of Public Policy, covered two Constitutional Amendments including Hometown Democracy and the 5% Assessment Cap for Non Homestead Properties. Sherri Meadows, FAR RPIC Chair, discussed the Broker Involvement Program. Governor Crist spoke to the Florida Realtors and shared his views for the positive economic trends he sees in Florida.
