James Dwiggins spent much of 2024 advocating for the real estate industry to ride the winds of change instead of fighting them, including taking a stance against commission sharing.

“2024 has been a drastic year of change in the real estate industry,” he says. “While many leaders have chosen a path of little resistance in response to change, at NextHome we have taken the challenges head on. On top of ensuring all NextHome members were educated and prepared on how to adjust their business to new NAR regulations, I’m proud to have also been broadcasted as an expert voice across the industry. I’ve offered my outlook on numerous panels at events, webinars, podcasts, and articles throughout the year. As a co-host on the Real Estate Insiders Unfiltered Podcast, I continuously get to share timely content and have honest conversations with fellow leaders in the industry.”

Dwiggins has been an innovator throughout his career, founding two separate companies along his real estate journey: VREO, an early agent and broker digital office suite, and Nexthome, the brokerage where he is currently president and CEO.

“Having co-founded NextHome with the goal of making a difference in the real estate industry, I’m incredibly proud to see that just ten years later, we have done just that, with over 600 offices and 6,000+ members across the country that align with our vision. Even as we grow, our core mission has remained the same, to enrich lives by helping people find their next home.”
