RISMEDIA, April 9, 2010—Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates LLC announced that Philip A. White, Jr. has been promoted to president in addition to his longstanding role as the company’s chief operating officer. Michael R. Good will continue to serve as chief executive officer, after holding both the president and CEO titles since February 2004. The appointment will enable Good to continue his focus on strategic growth opportunities for Sotheby’s International Realty while transitioning the day-to-day operational and brand management responsibilities to White.
“I am pleased to promote Philip in recognition of his leadership in the continued growth and development of the Sotheby’s International Realty brand network,” said Good. “For the past six years, we have worked shoulder to shoulder, and I am proud of the significant role Philip has played in building the operations and guiding the growth of our luxury real estate brand. He has demonstrated his commitment to excellence in everything from the selection and recruitment of new network members to the servicing and support of our brokers and sales associates in the field.”
A 30-year industry veteran, White has spent more than half of his real estate career with the Sotheby’s International Realty brand in both management capacities and as a brokerage owner.
From 1980 to 1988, White held several positions in the Sotheby’s International Realty network. As senior vice president and regional manager for the southeast United States, he was responsible for developing a network of affiliated brokers and listing and marketing properties in cooperation with them. In addition to holding management positions in both the New York City and Palm Beach offices, White developed and managed a high-end local brokerage business in the Atlanta market for the company.
White left the company to start his own independent real estate firm called Philip White Properties, Inc., in Atlanta, and the firm was a Sotheby’s International Realty affiliate from 1988 to 1992. After four successful years at the helm, he sold his firm to Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, a subsidiary of NRT LLC, one of the nation’s largest residential real estate brokerage companies.
Prior to his July 2004 appointment as chief operating officer of Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates, White spent 12 years with NRT, serving as managing broker of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Buckhead office in Atlanta, one of the most successful offices in the entire NRT organization.
