RISMEDIA, August 11, 2010—Global franchise real estate leader, RE/MAX, LLC, is hosting its annual Broker Owner Conference in Denver, CO, this week, August 8-10, with nearly a thousand attendees from 12 different countries. Featured presentations will be made by the industry’s top analysts. Former U.S. Navy captain, and best-selling author, Michael Abrashoff will deliver the keynote address, “It’s our Ship.”
The conference officially began Sunday, but RE/MAX Chairman and Co-Founder, Dave Liniger, kicked off the featured speaker presentations with an insightful look at the future housing market. Over the past two years, Liniger has been working to influence federal policymakers in Washington to shape the housing recovery by advocating short sale reform and other government stimulus acts, like the Home Buyer Tax Credit. This year, he was named one of BusinessWeek magazine’s 50 Most Powerful People in Real Estate 2010.
“The housing recovery will be gradual, with more ups and downs to come,” said Liniger during the opening general session. “It’s more important than ever to recognize that agents who pursue professional training will be the best equipped to assist families who are facing difficult decisions.”
Each year, the RE/MAX Broker Owner Conference attracts hundreds of the RE/MAX Network’s elite leaders from the U.S. and countries around the world. The conference offers extensive training and educational opportunities, a look at the latest technology and insights from industry experts.
In addition to conference activities, RE/MAX is celebrating a number of milestones this year:
-Three hundred and twenty-eight franchises have been sold so far in 2010, an 11% increase from the same period last year.
-RE/MAX expanded into five new countries this year including Bolivia and Tunisia who marked their new ownership with a flag-raising ceremony at RE/MAX headquarters in Denver. RE/MAX has a presence in more countries than any of its competitors.
