RISMEDIA, December 5, 2012– J. Rockcliff Realtors, the East Bay’s premier residential real estate firm, today announced that Jon Wood and Holly Sibley of the company’s Walnut Creek office have launched a drive to collect various necessities for families in need during the holidays and year round. Joining forces with The Taylor Family Foundation (TTFF), Wood and Sibley have identified several families whose children are facing life threatening illnesses. The financial strain on these families is significant as the children are in constant critical care with family resources geared towards treatment and associated travel.
One local family, for example, has two children of pre-school age living with hemophilia. This low-income family lives in one room that they rent in a home from another family. It is a daily struggle to not only keep their children healthy and happy, but to also provide for the family’s basic needs.
“It takes extraordinary effort for these families every single day simply to afford basic necessities such as food, clothes and gasoline,” said Wood. “We are proud to be supporting TTFF in their efforts to provide items that will not only help during the holidays but all year round.”
Gift cards in any amount from major grocery and big-box stores, as well as gas cards, are an integral part of the drive. In addition, clothing for boys and girls ranging in age from two through nine years old are desperately needed. Of course, with the holidays rapidly approaching, wish list items such as Legos, dolls, Xbox games, art supplies and sports equipment are also gratefully accepted.
“Jon Wood has been a crucial supporter of TTFF for more than 20 years,” said Angie Carmignani, executive director of The Taylor Family Foundation. “We very much appreciate his help with this drive. Even gas cards make a huge difference for a family constantly traveling back and forth for treatments, and wish-list items put a smile on the face of a child who suffers daily with catastrophic illness.”
The Taylor Family Foundation’s mission is to preserve the wellness and enhance the quality of life for health-challenged children in Northern California through unique therapeutic services, experiences and support.
All donations may be dropped off at the J. Rockcliff Realtors Walnut Creek office located at 1700 North Main Street or call Jon Wood or Holly Sibley at 925.280.6421 to arrange for them to pick up donations at any home or office location.
