RISMEDIA, January 23, 2013–John Reinhardt, president/CEO of Fillmore Real Estate in Brooklyn, New York, was recently named REALTOR® of the Year by the Brooklyn Board of REALTORS®.
Reinhardt has spent his entire professional career at Fillmore, beginning as a salesperson in 1982. “I sold my first house in Marine Park for $45,000,” he remembers. Soon after, he became an assistant manager at Fillmore’s Sheepshead Bay headquarters, where he eventually ascended to manager.
In 1988, Reinhardt founded Fillmore’s in-house advertising firm that allowed the company to become one of the first real estate firms in Brooklyn to advertise consistently in community newspapers. He also started Open House days and weekends, which were an innovation when first introduced to the borough in the 1980s.
Throughout his career, Reinhardt has been an advocate for many home buyers in Brooklyn. He campaigned in Washington, DC for several days in May of 2010 for continued FHA approval of the MeadowWood at Gateway condo project that was on the verge of being revoked. Thanks to these efforts, families were able to attain homeownership that would’ve otherwise been thwarted.
