Cedric Bobo is the co-founder of Project Destined, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that administers a real estate-based applied youth education program designed to promote financial literacy, leadership development and access to mentorship opportunities yielding an increased competitiveness of urban youth.
Prior to founding Project Destined, Bobo spent 20-plus years as an investor and investment banker, including 10-plus years at The Carlyle Group, where he committed over $2 billion of equity capital. In 2015, he was named to the “10 Top Powerful Black People on Wall Street You Should Know.”
Founded in 2017, Project Destined was created to transform minority youth into owners and stakeholders in the communities in which they live, work and play. Across multiple modules, Project Destined scholars gain exposure to all aspects of the real estate investment lifecycle, while gaining exposure to industry professionals, analyzing real opportunities and helping to invest real capital into real estate within their own communities.
Project Destined is constantly working toward three main goals, the first being to train students in leadership and entrepreneurship through the evaluation of ‘live’ real estate investments in their local community. The second goal is to create cultivated networking opportunities where students engage directly with local companies and executives. Lastly, participants receive a portion of financial scholarships when they become real estate stakeholders.
