Chris Carrillo is president and CEO of Metro MLS and WIREdata Corporation, which serve 7,200 REALTORS® in 2,100 offices across Wisconsin, as well as an instrumental part of MLS Aligned. Metro MLS facilitates cooperation and compensation to its broker members by providing accurate and timely listings information. Carrillo believes that data standards will increase efficiency and better serve brokers, agents and consumers.
In 2018, Carrillo announced a partnership with Matthew Consalvo of ARMLS in Arizona to create The Market, a joint venture designed to white-label MLS services by sharing employee resources and marketing. Carrillo and Consalvo got the idea for the partnership after they realized that both groups operated on the same MLS platform, owned their own tax systems, had the same customer service philosophy, had progressive MLS boards and shared a common vision of the MLS of the future.
The partnership is not a merger or takeover. Both MLSs maintain their existing association ownership structures and independent local presences but use technology to benefit from shared scale, despite the geographic distance between them. The joint venture is wholly owned by both entities. The leaders are open to the possibility of adding other MLSs in the future.
Carrillo was a featured speaker at CMLS2019 and has served on RESO’s Board of Directors, the COVE Group and NAR’s Technology and Emerging Trends workgroup, MLS Issues and Policies Committee, and MLS Executives’ Advisory Committee. He was chairman of NAR’s MLS Executives’ Forum and the MLS Executive Appointee to the NAR Board of Directors.
