Under Cheong’s leadership, realtor.com debuted enhanced home search this summer, aligning with its brand campaign “The Home of Home Search.” The features are functional—improved loading times, for one—and enhance the experience for users, with collapsible details and the history of the property, dates of open houses, hours the listing has been on the portal, and more. With the upgrades, there are also considerably more listings per page—on mobile, more than three times what there were originally.
According to Cheong, his philosophy revolves around the user, and is motivated by their needs and wants.
“Searching for a home is a very stressful process, especially in today’s market,” he explained of the initiative. “The new realtor.com web experience puts more listings at our users’ fingertips and makes it easier to compare homes side-by-side.”
In addition to a fresh home search for its users, realtor.com launched a New York City-specific search, giving homebuyers the local know-how to navigate New York City. The customized experience was also launched this summer.
Cheong was appointed chief product officer in April 2017.
