In 2019, Don Wenner, founder and CEO of DLP Real Estate Capital, led the firm to become the No. 5 fastest-growing company among all those that have made the Inc. 5000 list of Fastest-Growing Private Companies for seven consecutive years. In addition, DLP acquired Brite Homes, an Orlando-based home builder. Wenner was named a finalist for EY Entrepreneur of the Year, named to the 40 Under 40 list and invited to the Forbes Real Estate Council.
Wenner is a leader in single- and multi-family brokerage, investment management, asset management, property management, construction and private lending. He has scaled high-growth entrepreneurial companies and is actively involved in finding and developing talent and forging partnerships. The company gives back through the DLP Positive Returns Foundation, which focuses on job creation and affordable housing.
Since DLP was founded in 2007, Wenner has closed over 12,000 transactions worth more than $1.6 billion. He is a regular guest on podcasts and wrote “Building an Elite Organization.” He, his wife and two young sons live in St. Augustine, Fla.
Wenner shares these words of wisdom from “Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance” by Angela Duckworth: “To be gritty is to keep putting one foot in front of the other. To be gritty is to hold fast to an interesting and purposeful goal. To be gritty is to invest, day after week after year, in challenging practice. To be gritty is to fall down seven times, and rise eight.”
