Graeme Moore is owner of The Moore Co., a boutique firm in Columbia, S.C. The agency covers The Midlands region of the state, which includes Columbia, Orangeburg and Sumter.
In 2018, The Moore Co. announced “Flip & Give,” a charitable flip of a home in Shandon, a Columbia neighborhood. Once the home, a 1920s bungalow, is renovated and sold, 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to local organizations.
Flip & Give is a crowdsourced initiative: The community is choosing everything from the design finishes to the floor plan, as well as the charities that will receive the proceeds of the sale. Throughout the 24-week project, the community is choosing cabinetry, the front door’s style, lighting, the roof and shingle type, and other features.
Moore and partner Justin Drafts bought the home in 2017. It has two bedrooms and one bathroom, but will be expanded to four bedrooms and three bathrooms in the renovation—double its size. It is expected to be finished by January 2019.
