Julia Lashay Israel, head of inclusion and belonging, spent last year continuing the Keller Williams mission to empower people of color to earn more, learn more and build wealth. She proved pivotal to the company’s launch of “The Color of Money” podcast, which focuses on closing the wealth disparities in the U.S. by delivering engaging and mindset-shifting episodes devoted to wealth accumulation among Black and historically marginalized communities.
She continues to instruct The Color of Real Estate and Unconscious Bias courses to Keller William agents across the U.S. and Canada, and launched a new Inclusive Leadership course. As an industry thought leader on diversity topics, she has also been featured on RISMedia’s “Real Edge” podcast.
“The most rewarding part of my career is helping others view the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion from a perspective that benefits both our communities and our businesses,” says Israel. “For leaders, that may look like creating inclusive environments where everyone can thrive; for real estate agents, that may look like finding ways to grow their business by embracing our differences; for clients, that means having a highly skilled and trained professional assisting them in accessing equitable housing.”
